To become a Driving Instructor you must... |

- Have held a full car licence for at least 3.5 years.
- Be able to read a number plate where the letters and numbers are 79.4mm from a minimum of 27.5m (90ft).
- Have a clean licence (some minor driving convictions allowed).
- Be free from any offence committed in the last 4 years that might prevent you from becoming a driving instructor.
- Be a fit and proper person to have your name entered onto the official register. All convictions, including motoring offences still in force, may be taken into account when assessing your suitability.
- Pass the compulsory three part examination.
